My prediction came true last Sunday as the Niners were able to comfortably put away the Washington Redskins in an away game and I am going to go a step further this week and state here that the New York Giants will be defeated in Candlestick Park.
The NFC West is as bad as last season with the single exception of the 49ers that have a very impressive 7-1 record. So let’s get to those predictions that I promised in my last post.

Week 10: New York Giants – This game is vital for the Niners as it has home advantage in the playoffs implications. I pick the home team to prevail in this encounter as they should be able to handle Eli Manning, receivers Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham and the tailback Ahmad Bradshaw.

Week 11: Arizona Cardinals – Expect the Niners to go up 9-1 here against a Cardinals team that is reeling right now. It does not help the visiting Arizona Cardinals that they would be in the middle of a three-game road trip when they play at Candlestick Park.

Week 12: Baltimore Ravens – Now this a big time treat on Thanksgiving night as two hot teams go to battle. Baltimore has a top-five defense, led by linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed. Also, the Ravens will be playing at home and this should be a thrilling game. The Niners will get a good test before the players, but they might lose this one.
Week 13: St. Louis Rams – By this time, I expect the Rams to be starting to try hard in the “Suck for (Andrew) Luck” sweepstakes. After eating humble pie in their Thanksgiving match up against the Ravens, expect the Niners to bounce back here.

Week 14: Arizona Cardinals – This is a tricky game for the 49ers as they could be caught looking ahead to the Monday Night Football showdown versus the Pittsburg Steelers. Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals may be able to pull this one off at home, but I am going with the Bay Area team in this one.

Week 15: Pittsburg Steelers – I am going to say here that the Niners will prevail over the Steelers in this prime-time fight. It is a great challenge for the Niners heading into the playoffs and winning this game would give them a much needed confidence boost that could even carry them to Super Bowl XLVI.

Week 16: Seattle Seahawks - The Niners will be in a festive mood and motivated to play hard and beat the Seahawks in this Christmas Eve battle in the great Northwest. And 'tis the season to be merry as next week will be another thumping that should be handed to the St. Louis Rams.

Week 17: St. Louis Rams – What better way to celebrate New Year ’s Day than by a victory over the Rams in an away game that could help greatly in terms of seeding in the playoffs.
There you go! I say the 49ers will go 14-2 into the playoffs hopefully with home field advantage through the playoffs.
