San Fransisco will go on the road to face the Detroit Tigers beginning July first. Currently, San Fran has pitched and hit themselves to an impressive record and hope to continue doing well in this interleague match up against an evenly matched Detroit Tiger team. Detroit also has good hitting and pitching along with home field advantage for this series.
The Giants are 46-36, but are just under 500 away from home with 22 wins to 23 losses. They are hoping game one starter Madison Bumgarner can begin the series with a win. This is something that has been hard to come by for Bumgarner who has just 4 wins on the season to 9 losses. More amazingly is the fact that his 9 losses have come with a respectable 3.84 earned run average. Hopefully the Giants will be able to hit to help Madison out in game one.
The Tigers will send Brad Penny to the mound to pitch in the series opener in Detroit. At home Detroit has a 26-17 record and overall they are 44-38. Detroit’s Penny has a 5-6 record with a 4.66 earned run average on the year. The two teams are set to start at 7:05 PM ET.
