TGIT!! That would be Thank God Its Thanksgiving. What more to ask than a thrilling battle between the 9-1 Niners and the AFC North leaders, the Baltimore Ravens. The Niners have nothing to lose and really should not feel the pressure. I will go against my prediction and say now that they would pick up this victory and this would be a very big morale boost for them if they actually did.
I really enjoyed watching them take care of business at home against the Arizona Cardinals yesterday. The first half had a lot of missed opportunities that the Niners were unable to take advantage of including one play that saw Alex Smith miss a wide open Michael Crabtree. Even though they didn’t really blow out Arizona, it was still good that they triumphed. We all know what Larry Fitzgerald can do and his focus and talent were on display again on Sunday when he caught a ball in the end zone that went through the hands of a defender.

Getting back to the Turkey Day clash, it will be a much awaited showdown between brothers John and Jim Harbaugh. HarBowl 2011 as it has now been named has both fans and Vegas restless and uneasy. I am going to go with Vegas that seems to predict a close game. The Niners should just keep doing what they have been doing by running the ball, playing defense and not making any mistakes. Although, people say that their style of football is not fun to watch, I would disagree with this. Give me Pro Bowl wide receiver Braylon Edwards, Pro Bowl Tight End Vernon Davis, Pro Bowl Running Back Frank Gore, the 2009 NFL Draft #10 pick WR Michael Crabtree and the 2005 NFL Draft #1 pick QB Alex Smith to watch at any time during the week and I will be very pleased. Not to mention, safety Madieu Williams and outside linebacker Aldon Smith. I’ve got to give the defense some love too.
I know that the Ravens superstar linebacker Ray Lewis who has been selected to the Pro Bowl 12 times and been the MVP of Super Bowl XXXV missed the Cincinnati game on Sunday and it’s not sure right now if he will be ready to play this Thursday. I would like him to play even though I want the Niners to win because of the excitement he brings to an already amazing game. Yet, the 49ers are playing on a short week and I think they would be happy if Ray Lewis does not take the field even though Vernon Davis has stated that he is not bothered.
