The A's wrapped up their opening series against AL West rivals Seattle with a 6-5 win to take the series. IN what was either a very exciting series or an early display of two bad teams, the A's emerged as the only 2-win team in AL West. It's not much, but we'll take it.
It was another Kurt Suzuki walk off hit that gave the A's the win in the bottom of the ninth. Rajae Davis jacked a solo homer in the third to tie it up 2-2.
The A's dropped the season opener to a hopeful Seattle team. The A's fought back in game two taking the win on A Marco Ellis walk-off hit.
Justin Duchsherer didn't look great in his first start in over a year, going 5.2 with 5 earned runs. Rookie and former Cal Bear Tyson Ross came in and threw 2.1 innings with no earned runs. Ross looked good and could be a nice fit for setup/middle relief with Andrew Bailey coming in to shut things down late in games. Blevins picked up the win.
"I was not as comfortable as I'd like to be." - Justin Ducsherer said about his return.
A home run by former Athletic Milton Bradley wasn't enough to get the Mariners a win. So here's to a great start of the 2010 season and may the A's scrap their way to a West title. As long as the Angels do their part.
"That was an insane experience out there tonight." - Tyson Ross on playing for boyhood team.
