The 49ers will travel to Mall of America Field in Minnesota on Sunday to face the Vikings at 1 p.m. on FOX. San Francisco will look to stay undefeated as they come into the game at 2-0. The team’s latest win came Sunday night against the Lions at home. Minnesota comes into the game with a 1-1 record after losing to the Colts in Indianapolis last Sunday. The win for Indy was rookie QB Andrew Luck’s first NFL W.
This will be the 49ers second away game this season. Their first came against the Packers week one. This away opponent should provide less of a threat to the 9ers, but they must not take them lightly. Minnesota can run the ball well and is improving in their passing attack. The team will also be at home and has a good fan base that can make the dome in Minnesota very loud. The game should be a game San Fran should win, and is the type of game that can reach havoc for weeks if a loss.
Minnesota will need to play one of their best games to get the victory. The team gave up way too much defensively last week and will play an extremely good rushing football team in the 49ers. They must try and control the running game of San Fran. Without a good running performance, the 49ers can turn into a pretty awful offensive team. Stopping the run would certainly make for a more interesting game in Minnesota.
